Without the sun, earth, air and water the plants can’t grow.

With out the sun there would be no food, no oil, or life as we know it.

Without the light of the sun and fire, we are in the dark….. and the dark is cold.

Without the tree there is no wood

Without the Bible we would still be warm and could see the light.

Water does not come from the faucet, heat does not come from the furnace, food does not come from the grocery store.  It is time to wake up from the illusion of man and align with the Sun.  Even plants and animals orient themselves towards the sun.  Houseplants turn and bend towards the sun, and the sunny south sides of hills have a different micro-climate than north slopes.  Cats love sitting on a warm, sunny window sill in the winter.  Surely, the sun must seem to be God to plants and animals.  The Sun pours out a million Billion-megawatt hours of energy year after year.  It gives regardless of birthplace, ethnicity or religion.

Before the invention of artificial light, mankind lived closer to and was totally dependent on nature and the Sun.  His attention would have been more focused on the observation of the skies and heavens.  Understanding and wonder at the heavens was universal throughout the planet because nature’s laws governed over all. The word “heaven” has meanings of paradise and yet also above. The infinite mystery is so almighty that its universal message would be revealed in a way that all peoples in all lands and times could know of it.  A fair God’s message would not be a limited set of writings give to a certain group of people in a certain place in a limited period of time.  When I look to the heavens we do not see the Bible, we see the Sun, the Moon and the Stars.

The Sun is the one aspect of creation that all creatures have indirectly experienced and benefited from, yet it can not be directly looked at. The Sun has given freely to all men, in all times. In fact, the color of men’s skin evolved from the amount of exposure to the Sun. The people living close to the sun near the equator developed more melatonin and their skin turned darker colors.  The people who moved north developed less melatonin so that they could absorb the sun for vitamin D.  But although people are different colors they all come from the same source.

The Sun was so critical to life, as a light and life giving warming entity, that it was personified by many cultures, including the ancient Egyptians, Greeks, Subcontinent Indians, the Aztec and many more.  It was given various names, symbols and human like qualities throughout time.  All over the ancient world, Sun observances through symbols and astroarchitecture has been found that celebrates and marks solstices and other celestial events. These include granges, mithreaums, pyramids and kivas.  It seems that many religions may have evolved from the observance of the heavens or sky.  How can we collectively remember this origin and set aside our differences and come together to create a peaceful beautiful world?  How can we reintroduce and integrate this knowledge into our current world culture?
